AGORAPHOBIA​
​
Agoraphobia may be diagnosed when a child avoids certain places or situations because they are worried about having a panic attack.

BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER
Experiencing persistent and intrusive thoughts about a perceived flaw in one’s appearance. These thoughts interfere with functioning, and cause significant emotional distress.

DERMATILLOMANIA
(SKIN-PICKING DISORDER)
People with dermatillomania might pick at healthy skin, scabs, pimples, or other small irregularities. Even when they want to stop, the urge can feel impossible to resist, and it can cause stress, shame, or embarrassment.
GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER (GAD)
Children with GAD may feel like they are always worried, may ruminate often, and may experience physical symptoms of anxiety such as muscle tension, stomachaches, and difficulty sleeping.

OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD)
A mental health condition where a child has unwanted thoughts (called obsessions) that cause anxiety, and they feel the need to do certain actions (called compulsions) to try to feel better or stop something bad from happening.
PANIC DISORDER

A panic disorder is diagnosed when children experience spontaneous, seemingly out-of-the-blue panic attacks and are preoccupied with the fear of having another panic attack.

PHOBIAS
​
Strong fears of certain objects or situations. Common phobias in children include fears of animals, the dark, loud noises, storms and needles.

SELECTIVE MUTISM
​
Selective mutism is diagnosed when a child is unwilling or unable to speak aloud at all or in certain situations without a medical cause.

SEPARATION ANXIETY DISORDER​
Child experiences excessive anxiety when separating from home or a loved one. Separation anxiety disorder usually won't go away without treatment and can lead to panic disorder and other anxiety disorders into adulthood.

SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER​
​
When your child experiences significant worry in the context of social or performance situations, resulting in avoidance behavior.
TIC DISORDERS​​
​
Tics are sudden, rapid, recurrent movements or vocalizations that are generally experienced as irresistible.
TRICHOTILLOMANIA(HAIR-PULLING DISORDER)
Children experiencing trichotillomania compulsively pull out their hair. It may be triggered by stress, anxiety, or boredom resulting in noticeable hair loss.
